10 Worship Songs on Repeat
Here’s Part 2 of “10 Worship Songs on Repeat”! If you haven’t checked out Part 1 yet, click ‘here.’ Music is one of my favorite gifts God has given us. It can tell stories, connect people, and reach the deepest parts of our hearts in profound ways. Worship music isn’t just an act of praise—it’s a way to minister to ourselves, to rally our minds against the enemy and stay rooted in the gospel. Here’s a list of ten worship songs I’ve had on repeat recently! I hope they speak to you as much they have to me.
“So Much” – Life.Church Worship
“It’s so easy to praise You, Lord / I’ve got so much, so much to be thankful for”
It would be so easy to list every song from Life.Church Worship’s newest album, but for now we’ll settle for just one! In a world where you can always find something to be negative about, “So Much” reminds us to reflect on all the ways that God has been good in our lives. Even though we may be surrounded by trouble or caught in the middle of a storm, believers can find joy in knowing the One who is faithful in all things. You know what the antidote to fear, anxiety, anger, and resentment is? Gratitude. Gratitude is the “have you had enough water today” of spiritual health. The next time you catch yourself in a garbage mood, I’d encourage you to sing this bridge to yourself: “And I just can’t forget what You’ve done for me / You’ve been so good.” Even if the only good thing that happened to you today was that you woke up with breath in your lungs, you’ve got so much to be grateful for!
1 Thessalonians 5:16—Rejoice always.
Hebrews 12:28—Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe.
Philippians 4:8—Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
“Still Waters (Psalm 23)” – Leanna Crawford
Probably the most important thing I’ve learned in my battle against anxiety is that sometimes you just have to minister to yourself. As followers of Christ, we know that we have an enemy that does everything he can to attack us. Question for you: would you go to battle without a weapon or armor? Ephesians 6:17 says, “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Scripture isn’t there just to look pretty on a coffee mug—it’s a spiritual weapon! Anxiety HATES when we preach to our own hearts, because it crushes any lies the enemy tries to plant. Re-read Psalm 23 and really let the words sink in for you:
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside quiet waters,
He refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths for His name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely Your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
“Wholehearted” – We Are Messengers
“When I need grace / You give it wholehearted / Give it wholehearted / I was a mess / But you never departed / Never departed”
Raise your hand if you ever felt like you totally did not deserve half of God’s grace or love for you. (🙋♀️) God doesn’t just love us—He loves us deeply, personally, completely, and wholeheartedly. His love doesn’t hold back; it chases us down, wraps us up, and never lets go. Someone in our Life group recently said, “God doesn’t know how to NOT love us.” Thank God that no matter how badly we screw up, our Heavenly Father never stops loving us!
Romans 5:8—But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
2 Timothy 2:13—If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot disown Himself.
Luke 15:4-7—“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.”
“Breakthrough” – Red Rocks Worship
I know, another Red Rocks Worship song…I can’t help it! Honestly, I’m not sure how I narrowed it down to just two on this list! In Christianity, “breakthrough” represents a turning point in the life of a believer: a spiritual awakening, divine intervention, personal revelation, etc. For Paul, it was when the scales fell from his eyes after meeting Jesus on the road to Damascus. When we pray for non-believers, we pray that God opens the eyes of their hearts. Maybe you’re in a season of waiting for your own breakthrough. If that’s you, I wish I could reach through the screen, take your hand, and say, “Friend, it’s coming. Whatever stronghold you feel is keeping you from experiencing God is no match for His power.” Be still. Quiet the noise around you. God speaks in whispers, because He is close. There will be breakthrough!
1 Kings 19:11-12—The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.” Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.
Psalm 46:10—“Be still, and know that I am God.”
Isaiah 43:19—“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
“Trouble” – Matthew S. Nelson, The Chosen, Dan Haseltine
PSA: If you haven’t yet watched “The Chosen,” stop what you’re doing immediately and go do it! Jonathan Roumie is now the mental image of Jesus that lives in my brain. This song is played in the Season One finale after Jesus meets the Samaritan woman at the well and announces that He is the Messiah. It’s a turning point moment, one where you say, “Oh, it’s about to get REAL.” If the Son of God had a baseball walk-up song, it would be this one. “Throw me like a stone in the water / Watch the mud rise up.” He knew that He was going to stir up trouble! This was the guy that hung out with outcasts, had dinner with sinners, healed on the Sabbath, flipped tables in the temple court, called the religious leaders out on their hypocrisy, and announced that His upside-down kingdom was coming! Jesus was the ultimate troublemaker and the only team I want to be on.
Matthew 5:3-10—“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
Matthew 23:25-28, 33—“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean. Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside, but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness. . . You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?”
I hope this list gives you a few more songs to add to your worship playlist! Remember, worship isn’t just an act of praise—it’s an act of spiritual warfare. Suit up, grab a microphone (or hairbrush), and go to war.
Jesus, Thank You for the gift of music. You love to hear us worship and praise, and You are worthy of it all. Thank You for giving us a new song in our hearts and spiritual weapons to use in our battle against the enemy. Give us bold faith and confidence in Your power. Remind us that prayer is the first line of offense, not the last resort. Encourage us to praise you in the waiting. Write the record of Your faithfulness on our hearts. God, thank You for delivering us from sin and giving us freedom. We have so much to be thankful for. You never leave us in the valley or forsake us in our sin. You chase after us wholeheartedly and create breakthrough in our lives. Thank You that we are welcome in Your upside-down Kingdom, Lord. We love You, we praise You, and we give You all the glory. Amen!
